Our name says it all! We are a group of Northwest mountain enthusiasts with the knowledge and expertise to help you with whatever your outdoor need. We work with clubs, groups and organizations in the community to specifically gear our merchandise towards the Oregon and Great Northwest mountain adventurer.

Oregon Mountain Community first opened in February 1971 in a 300 square foot space at 12th & Jefferson in Portland. The store quickly outgrew its space and in 1976 moved to Second & Main to a space five times the size. We now had the legroom to increase our merchandise to meet the demands of our customers. By the 1980s a new wave was sweeping over Portland and so OMC moved once again to our old town space, at 5 times the size of our previous space. With 9,000 square feet OMC grew into the specialty and technical outdoor superstore that it is today.
